Dacia has added another pair of awards to its rapidly growing trophy cabinet after the Dacia Sandero was crowned ‘Supermini of the Year’ and the Dacia Jogger was named ‘Family Car of the Year’ at the Auto Express New Car Awards 2023.

The Dacia Sandero was praised by Auto Express for its unbeatable package, while the Jogger took the highly-coveted family car award for the second year running after impressing the judges with its excellent usability and innovative design.

Auto Express determined the Sandero and Jogger to be its supermini and family car champions after judging them according to the way owners use them and need them to perform. They were then evaluated against key rivals.

On the renowned magazine and website’s decision to award the Dacia duo, Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief at Auto Express, said: “We're massive admirers of what Dacia is doing right now - it's no wonder other car makers are watching it so closely! The Jogger is the perfect family car – brilliantly thought out by people who clearly know what family buyers want (and what they don't). It's good to drive and even better to live with on a day-to-day basis – a clever car that we really love. And the Sandero proves that there's still plenty of life in the Supermini yet. As others abandon the segment, Dacia is doubling down on a brilliantly simple, effective and efficient small car that we know buyers will love."

Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, commented: “These awards perfectly illustrate how Dacia’s ‘good thinking’ continually evolves and delivers for car buyers, with both our newest and one of our longest established models being judged to be the very best vehicles in their highly competitive sectors. Dacia’s focus on value is unwavering, but the judges’ decisions clearly underline how affordability is complemented with innovative features, practicality and durability to provide families and drivers with cars that are perfectly in tune with their requirements.”
