The All-New Dacia Spring is the EV that “has created the biggest buzz” after the pure-electric supermini was named the ‘Most Eagerly Awaited Electrified Car of 2024’ in the EcoCar Electrified Top 50.
Additionally, the Dacia Jogger made it a double celebration, with the innovative seven-seater winning ‘Best Hybrid Estate Car’.
Priced from only £14,995 on-the-road – making it the UK’s most affordable new electric car – the All-New Dacia Spring will arrive in UK showrooms later this year.
Interest in the pure-electric supermini has rocketed since Dacia announced that it would bring the Spring to the UK in the shape of a new and improved version of the original. Introduced in 2021, the first-generation Spring grew to be one of Europe’s best-selling EVs and is widely credited with democratising electric car ownership throughout the region.
Since ordering opened on 4 June, over 300 car buyers have ordered the All-New Dacia Spring. The recent announcement of finance offers has further piqued drivers’ excitement for the model with the five-door hatchback being available for £169 per month on a 3.9% APR representative*, four-year Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) deal, with a customer deposit of £2,325.
Ian Robertson, Editor and Publisher of Diesel&EcoCar, which organises the annual awards, explained why the magazine singled out the All-New Dacia Spring as 2024’s most wanted EV: “British buyers have looked on jealously at other European markets that have been able to buy the first-generation Spring since its arrival in showrooms during 2021. After pleading with Dacia and stamping our feet, now we will be able to see what all the fuss is about in a considerably enhanced version of the pure electric city car. With prices starting from just £14,995, it’s the cheapest electric car on sale in the UK bar none, and October can’t come around fast enough. Amongst our readers, it’s the car that arrives in 2024 that has created the biggest buzz, generated the most number of questions, and demanded lots of answers.”
Luke Broad, Brand Director, Dacia UK, said: “With an ever-increasing number of UK car buyers wanting to switch to an electric car but high initial prices being a recognised barrier, there’s huge appetite for a usable, well-equipped and affordable EV. We are thrilled that so many people are looking forward to its arrival and, like them, we can’t wait for the All-New Spring to hit our shores – it really does have the potential to be the game-changing EV that people need.”
Rewriting the EV rulebook, the All-New Dacia Spring combines its incredible value with a comprehensive standard specification and everyday usability. It offers a choice of Expression and Extreme trim levels and has a range of up to 140 miles (WLTP mixed cycle) or 186 miles (WLTP urban cycle).
Spring can be ordered with a 45 hp, or a more powerful 65 hp/48 kW motor. Using its 7kW charger, the compact 26.8 kWh battery can be charged from 20% to 100% on a suitable domestic outlet in less than 11 hours, or in just four hours on a 7kW charger.
The standard specification includes such features as a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, cruise control, manual air conditioning, rear parking sensors, Media Control system with USB port, electric front windows and remote central locking.
