Awards double delight for Mitchells Group

Mitchells Group is celebrating a one-two in Renault Group UK’s best car dealer awards.

The Lowestoft-based group, which also has a Renault and Dacia site at Great Yarmouth, won Dacia UK’s Best Retailer and was runner-up in the Renault UK award.

The awards, contested by 150 dealers, recognise retailers which demonstrate best practice and go the extra mile using key performance indicators including local retail market share, customer satisfaction for sales and servicing and online presence.

Matt Huke-Jenner, dealer principal, said: “It is quite an achievement for a little dealer to be top of the tree for Dacia UK and second in the country for Renault. It puts Suffolk and Norfolk on the map.”

He praised the dedicated team of staff for the success.

“A lot of the success of the business is built on customer service. We try to put ourselves in our customers’ shoes. We treat people how we would like to be treated ourselves.

“It’s about having the right staff to spend time with customers, explain things and being available on the phone and when customers visit.”

The awards, in Manchester, were the first since Covid.

Mitchells, which next year celebrates half a century as a Renault franchise, has won several Renault dealer awards but this was the first time the brands have been recognised individually.

Ben Fish, Renault Group UK network operations director, said the awards followed an exciting 12 months for Renault UK with its electrified E-Tech range boosted by the all-electric Megane and Austral and Clio full hybrids.

They join the already successful Captur and Arkana hybrids with all-electric Renault 4, 5 and Scenic models to come over the next couple of years.

The seven-seat Dacia Jogger, which boasts a hybrid version, has attracted more buyers to the brand.

Luke Broad, Dacia UK brand director, said: “Congratulations to all our winners and a big thank you to all our retail partners. We are immensely proud of how they have helped Dacia to be the strongest it’s ever been.”

Mitchells has Renault and Dacia sites in Long Road, Lowestoft, and Suffolk Road, Yarmouth, and used car centres at London Road, Halesworth, and Mill Road, Lowestoft.
